Impulse bought a slingshot from harbor freight.

Fun to shoot pebbles, but I need more ideas to justify my purchase.

Would paintballs work? Could I buy a couple more and have a game with some friends?
Best things to shoot with/at?
How to shoot accurately?

You can get ball bearings that'll work. Also make sure to get a good quality band to make it more lethal. You can kill rabbits and other small game with them. A lot of survivalists carry them with them inna woods.

I buy a plug of clay sun bake marble sized balls for cheap ammo that is pretty consistent, cheap and biodegradable for no cleanup, hard candy works too

A big Gladys ball hits pretty hard, lead is the best but, steel ball bearings and hex nuts can both be really hard hitting without triggering lead poisoning paranoia

That's a really bad idea. The thing about a good slingshot is that it's MORE powerful than a paintball gun while also being less predictable. To justify that you'd need to get some decent goggles at minimum and at that point you're spending more and more to justify the one thing you've already bought.

That's not to say it's not fun as shit. Some of my fondest childhood memories are pegging cans and fucking around with these things, but you need to remember that what you've got there is basically a small bow(and it takes very little modification to fire arrows out of those things) and you need to treat it as such.

Paintballs are still decent for practice though, provided you know how to handle them though. Learning not to squeeze too hard and where my shots were landing to aim.

I've got one that I want to modify to use arrows, but I cant find a suitable whisker biscuit to attach to my sling.

I prefer arrows to ball berrings, but I hate bows, and a sling is easier to carry as an emergency weapon for hunting.

Depends on the slingshot and ammo used I'd assume. A 10 buck special with random pebbles would be hit or miss at best but if you got a decent one and stuck a heavier band on with dedicated shot you'd probably have a decent chance of it.

Many paint balls are biodegradable, obviously check to be sure b4 buying, and you can have a fun day of paint ball in the woods all for the cost of a few sling shots and ammo.

You can make a very good home made slingshot with a coat hanger and a strong elastic band. My dad used to use it when he was a teen. He would hunt rabbit, birds, etc. With them.

One thing to watch out for with ball bearing and especially hex nuts is ricochets, if you hit something hard they will come back at you
