cut the snake into about three inch pieces, dredge in flower and egg, and deep fry in a pot of boiling oil until golden brown

that snake looks pretty small, so IDK how much meat is on it, but a decent sized rattler is delicious. I'd rather have seven rattlesnakes than a limit of ducks, or a limit of trout

How do you guys get so good at grabbing them? Also on a completely unrelated subject, has anyone ever encountered a rattlesnake in New England? I'm in Vermont and I think I heard one once in an area that supposedly has them. Obviously I'm not talking about grabbing a rattlesnake, I'm not dumb.

Holy shit though the thing must have been 6-7 inches in diameter. Don't fuck with a costa rican farmer /out/, they'll cut your fucking head off. It's amazing how the death toll has gone down significantly in that whole region from snake bites due to a huge anti-venom production and distribution project funded by the costa rican gov't. Based Costa Ricans.

Also there was this one time on the bus that we stopped because we saw about 15 turky vultures eating a dead boa constrictor carcass.

You don't know the half of it. I felt kinda sorry for the poor bastard. I mean sure, it's the 7th most deadly viper on the face of the planet, but he was jsut slithering along minding his own business. Nedless to say, we had plenty of snake meat that night and it was delicious. That's one thing I love about the Costa Rican people, nothing goes to waste and if you kill it you eat it.

We also saw some coral snakes and couple of eyelash vipers, but the eyelash vipers are so well camouflaged they're hard to spot.

You can outwit your phone's autofocus by focusing on your hand while it's next to the subject and then pulling your hand away as you hit the button. It takes a few attempt to get the hang of it but it's an easy way to get pics of small stuff when the camera insists on focusing on the background.

I have had green mambas and black mambas in my house before. Both are regarded as some of the deadliest snakes in the world.
