Also, does anyone else wonder what it was like to find such a place as a great lake in the middle of the wilderness, untouched by human corruption? I would love to be the first to set eyes on something like that, but sadly that can not happen anymore.

Are any of the Great lakes not horribly polluted? I know lake Huron has good ol' chemical valley. I see people fishing in lake St. Clair (not a Great lake but kinda in between Huron and Erie) but it's pretty nasty too.
