What's wrong with ETA? Seeing as virtually all but the highest end (as in Patek, Breguet et. al.) use ETA, why go out of your way to avoid them? Unless you mean Japanese movements give more bang/buck.
>>377504Look into Seiko Monster. Kinda big, but apparently legendary quality for the money. Don't own one, but I have a Seiko 5 with the same 4R36 movement as they put in the current Monster, and I think it's great. Automatic, windable, hackable and day/date complication, and chronometer accuracy on my unit as far as I can tell.
