Go to hot springs, arkansas, and pick up your own from a rubble pile. The rock there, novaculite, breaks along joints that are straight enough to use as a whetstone without any additional processing. Its also the same material as anything marketed as an arkansas whetstone. Best place I've gotten pieces is on the north side of the canyon the national park is in, at the edge of the parking lot there. Its also not in the national park, so its all good.
