Here's mine.
its a bellotto..
Its 30" total.
the stock ones, [this ones kinda stock] suck, straight off the bat, ill say it. the edge looks like a retarded 3rd grader did it. and the black paint they dip it in, fucking had rust spots coming through it, so I had to take it off. to prevent water getting under the paint and rusting it out.
also I need some 50 grit freakin belt sander belts to finish off the convex edge Its been worked with 120, but it was just basically heating up the blade and not doing much stock removing so I got the edge to a serviceable angle and called it good so far.
the handles [scales?] suck so much, hurt the shit out of your hand without gloves. because it has a stupid gap between the two. also for being a 30"er the handle is short as fuck..
also I they had a "canvas" sheath [scabbard?] but I didn't want a canvas one. so I op'td out of it, and ended up making a pine scabbard for it, total weight is about 3lbs.. the scabbard could be taken down a pound, but I attach it to my backpack mostly so it isn't a big deal. I'll end up buying some long veneer and plinking a few squirrels for leather for a GOOD quality scabbard.
I plan on either making a whole new hardwood handle [thinking ebony] or doing a leather stacked handle.
It also needs a lanyard hole and lanyard for your wrist, I've had friends use it and their hands get tired, and it go flying 8 feet one direction.
and of course a better quality less clunky scabbard, the edge finished off. and everything sharpened.
but so far, I've blazed my own trails just fine, and my knuckles stayed blood free.
