We've previously done this sort of thing on a cliff in a foresty park over-looking Poughkeepsie. The park itself had been closed but there were these ruins there and the hudson and city below us was amazing. I found it basically by picking the green spots along the train lines on google maps. If anyones done something like that, i'd really like to know about it.

As far as camping goes check out Rocky Neck State Park. Can you take a taxi though?

though rocky neck seems to me like more of a car camping place
fishing there is good and if you end up there in fall you may catch some stripers

As long as you have a spot to camp I say go for it.
Cars might not be allowed on the site either but I'd have to check as I'm not positive.
This is assuming that OP doesn't want to go for a hike first and find a spot.

What do you have to do hektik skidz with?

depends iv been there a few times and its been either quite quiet or a pretty buisy
yall can always go walk down the beach and bang in the water or on the beach
though dont get hooked rocky neck allows night fishing

not sure about campfires
i dont think its monotered super tightly but they may have one or 2 guys at the facilities
iv seen grills there before
and i think they may have/used to have thoes built in charcoal grills you can use

Fires are designated places. They encourage stoves. As far as privacy, only in your tent. It's a family campground.

Damn, I really want one of those motopeds now. I'm watching more videos of them.
This looks like a good project for me. I could work on it right in my little workshop area.

And to keep it /out/ related you could use it to go find a campsite and then go out during the day to ride around.

I do all my fishing in Staten Island actually, good for bass mostly. Once you get really familiar you find all the places where nobody goes.
