>>3994764 piece 9 foot 6 weight rod would be perfect more than likely and you can use that same rod on Trout/Bass/Sunfish/Perch if you those are available too.
The ones in the Basspro website listed should be up for the task and are durable enough as long as you do not drop it or get sand in it. I've had one of those Hobbs Creek reels for 2 years now and it works the same as the day I got it and I take this over the Lamson Guru reel if I know it will be a thick walk in which I can drop it.
Otherwise I prefer Lamson-Waterworks for my reels and Temple Fork Outfitters for my rods; although if I had 2-3 thousand to spend on an outfit, I would definitely get a Sage rod/reel combo.
I have TFO Lefty Kreh Professional Series II 6 weight, Professional Series I 6 weight, and a BVK rod 9 weight; each are 4 piece and 9 foot. For reels I have a Guru HD 9 weight and Guru 6 weight from Lamson Waterworks. I have heard amazing things regarding the Lamson Konic reel and if I ever need another reel this will be my first pick, at the price it is a killer deal and I believe is held under the same lifetime warranty that Lamson Waterworks has with all their products.
The 9 foot has never been too big even for small rivers or with trees around; you just need to know other casts (IE roll cast) to get the fly out there without tangle.
Also for fly line, it would probably be best to start with WFF (Weight Forward line) which helps with caster for starters as opposed to level/non tapered line. The combo's that I listed in

>>399557Why not just buy Umpqua or similar fly fishing brand? Tippet is the same regardless of country and should be a bit cheaper and more available than getting tippet from Tenkara websites. Quality should be the same, nylon and fluro are standard.
>>399558Tippet was probably from the same website as where the Tenkara rod was purchased, just look for Tenkara sellers and you should find that
