And this is why OP's pic shows the worst way to remove one.
Removing ticks is easy. Take alcohol or ether, put it on some piece of fabric, and apply it on the tick. He'll just get out, because he still has to breathe.
You can also remove it with shaving foam, sun screen, chocolate cream; whatever can cover it entirely and prevent it to breathe. It'll go away in seconds.
It always works, and it's much safer than squeezing the body.
