>>409460>they have very little "wild" about themCorrect. The creation of National Parks & Monuments results in something called a "front country," with gift shops, restaurants, hotels, and other amenities of civilization, run by a handful of private corporations. The front country also includes the most popular trails within one or two day's hiking distance. The person seeking solitude in a National Park must (after filling out a permit, waiting in line, etc) must hike two or three days in order to experience so-called "wilderness," then hike through the "front country" on the way back. I haven't backpacked in a National Park in decades, preferring little-know places without the distractions of the "front country" experience. National Parks and Monuments, by their very creation, "vandalize" some of nature in the guise of protecting it all, in my opinion.
This "vandal" ought to do her artwork (after getting a little better at it) in the middle of nowhere, like a week's walk away from anything, use very permanent pigments or etchants on the stone, and not tell anyone about it, rather leave it for archaeologists to puzzle over a thousand years from now. Troll the future.
