Not so much for its medicinal properties but birch bark tar has traditionally used as a binder or adhesive.

this is the biennial flowering structure, can grow to 5+ft high

otherwise, the plant grows in a rosette tight to the ground.

also used as an expectorant by settlers

birch oil can be used for alot of things no? I think i remember ray mears doing a thing on it where in sweden they harvest a shitload burn it in a metal drum and the oil/sap whatever it is makes glue or something like that
