>>410315No idea if anybody remembers but a couple months ago I bought a Kelty SB20 800FP down sleeping bag (Well... Three) and cut it up in order to make a new underquilt for my hammock, due the old one sucking balls. It's almost finished! With my final year of uni starting I've had very little access to the sewing machine and stuff.
I'm making it so that it is loosely fitted to me, rather than being a giant rectangle like most companies seem to produce. I hung a plain sheet underneath me in the hammock and got my girlfriend to pin and cut it so it followed the way I lay in the hammock.
I made each half individually and then I'm adding a little bit of extra space down the center of it so that it's not too tight (and might end up becoming a bit crushed) and I'm currently in the process of sewing the bit in the middle. The sewing machine has been a fucking joke and I'm taking a break right now as I need to replace the spool of thread on top. There are like seven different colours used for the thread. Currently using pink and light-blue (well, this one ran out).
Will post pics.
