I just watched Frozen and it got me thinking:
What would be the safest method to rappel down a length of about 80 feet if you have nothing but Paracord with you?

What if I had to?
This is not my go-to method, but I can't bring my climbing harness and carabiner with me just for emergencies.

So you mean cut off a length to build a rappel seat, then run the hanging cord through it with a munter's hitch? Would that work?

Let's assume I have 100 feet on me, and want to lower myself down 80 feet in an absolute life-or-death emergency.
If it was less than 40 feet height, I'd of course double the cord for everything.

I ran into a guy on the moraine below Grand Teton who was doing some solo low to mid class 5 on Middle Teton. His rappel rope was 80m of 6mm cord. He was using a rescue belay device. ...Had bigger balls than I.

My bail rope is 30m of dynamic 8mm. I need to use an ATC Guide and two fat teardrop biners to make it comfortably controllable. There's no way in hell I would use para cord for anything other than hanging crap around camp.

It would be extremely risky, another factor would be the cliff and how steep it is. I'm sure if its at an angle that isn't straight up vertical the odds would be with you.
