They are pretty not bad for the price, not the best steel but it holds its edge well enough and is easy to sharpen

My deerslayer came with a pretty good quality leather sheath

It had a decent edge on it, I put it to my stone and got is shaving sharp. It seems like it should hold a nice edge, it took one well enough

If you're not planning on batoning with it, then fine. Hell, if it's just for cutting cordage or skinning or food prep, any piece of sharpened metal will do. But it looks pretty, and if it turns out it would break if you did baton, it was only$19.99. Not bad m8. Just know that Old Timer knives aren't well known for "heavy use" which would include batoning. Still, really looks nice.

Also, this should be in Sharps General, not have it's own thread.

How was my comment bait? I was being honest. Also Old Timer Knives are made in China. They're shitty. But they cut cordage fine. Dollar store knives can too though. Still nice looking.

I used to have one, the shitty thing broke in half. I took the plastic handle parts off to replace with wood, but the balsa I bought didn't work right, so I was like "hey, I know, i'll make a spear!". So I made a spear, fastened the knife to it, launched it off my roof at a door I had propped up 30 ft away, landed a perfect hit, then the door fell over onto the spear and broke the blade in half at the handle. It's a shit knife, get a kabar instead.
