My kits are optimized for the season/terrain/activity... biggest thing is being competent with what you have. Have you tried starting a fire with your 30 matches? A lighter might be a better option. If you've got the space, road flares are even better. I carry a couple of those. Any first aid training?

If you're hiking, you might want to add moleskin to your kit. Blisters are a motherfucker.

I'd also recommend Vetwrap ... comes in a multitude of colors, it's kind of like an ace bandage except it sticks to itself real well (but not to skin), and it's disposable.

Orange flagging tape... if you have to move and leave a vehicle behind leave those on branches as breadcrumbs of your path. (Most of my /out/ing is on a moto or snowmobile, SAR almost ALWAYS finds the vehicles before the people - sled/bike stays put, where the people are moving targets.)

Communication - you have none that I see. Phones are great when there's service and when you've got battery. My old Startac would go into a low-power mode if it couldn't hit a tower. Both my smartphones since that one just freak out and crank up the power searching frantically for any signal, which effectively kills the battery. Put it in airplane mode, or better yet just turn it off till you need it.

Radios are better options, the cheap FRS blister-pack radios aren't bad, but a VHF/UHF amateur radio is even better (along with the license to operate it). These work without a support infrastructure.

Mabye, not well versed onthe effectiveness of an aerosol or squirt based, but wipes in sterilized packs are the best hands down. And if youre in a situation that requires sterilizing a wound as best you can,these make things alot better

XD40, Benchmade knife, Gerber tool, BCA Tracker beacon, B52 shovel, SR3 probe, Snowpulse Highmark II pack, cheap camp saws (one in my pack, one on my sled), bear spray on my pack in the summer, VHF/UHF 5W radio, compass, trail maps, extra gloves, extra socks, lighters, duct tape, black trash bags (the heavy/thick ones, not the cheap grocery-store shit), mule tape, carabiners... i'm sure i'm missing some stuff. Then there's all my protective gear, tools to fix sled/bike, camera equipment, spare bike/sled parts...

I don't do much confined space entry since I got out of the oilfield. I have considered an LEL/O2 monitor though. There's a couple of old Titan missile silos I'd love to take the camera gear to. Might rent a monitor for that.
