He had: a jug of water, his sleeping bag, a change of clothes, his beer, and a machete and I think 2 cans of soup
I had: the pots and pans, 2 stoves, 2 changes of clothes, a 4litre jug of water, my 1 litre nalgene, a few cans of soup, 8 cans of beer, 2 knives, a maglight, a change of batteries for the maglight, the tarp, a ton of cord, mac n' cheese, and more shit I can't remember because it was forever ago.
Either way, sharing the load is a great idea, and had I thought of it, I might have gone for it.

Furthermore, I didn't have a frame pack at the time, so it was just brutal carrying all of this shit.

Good. Its probably my favorite state park. You have to camp in the campground, which is lame.

But the hiking is really fun. Deep ravines, unusual rock formations everywhere. I think there is a small cave you can go through.

I like shades too, which is right down the road. In highschool me and my friend camped there for a few days then took a day trip to Turkey Run

good lesson though. make sure you have a jack, a cross shaped tire wrench, some flat fix spray, at least a quart of oil, and at least 4 quarts of coolant and some stop leak where ever you go. If you can avoid using the cooling system stop leak I'd recommend it but sometimes it's that or being stranded there for days.

The last trip I did was a summer camp, and the Troop Leader had brought his girlfriend. She had apparently heard some boys swearing in the showers which she thought were from our troop. The two of them then proceeded to wake everyone up the next morning and yell at us until someone came clean (which no one did, but still).

I haven't had any bad experiences as an adult, but I haven't done any crazy long treks.

Once while camping as a kid I passed out from heat exhaustion/dehydration on the second to last day of the trip. I woke up in the car on the way home the next day, over 24 hours later. My parents hadn't thought to take me to a doctor, they just assumed I would eventually wake up and put me in the car.

ALWAYS stay at least 200ft || 60m from the closest water source to minimize possible contamination. If the area is damp - your shit may still get to the water source - so make it further away from water source.

When /out please do follow the Leave No Trace policy, also when it comes down to doing the number two, the business, shit...

Use a toilet, or
Dig it in, or
Pack it out, or
Smear (least practiced, coz requires some painting skills ;) )

I don't worry about the group size because I honestly don't give a fuck, I'm not a match shooter, but I can ring a CoM sized gong consistently from up to ~500m in assorted fighting positions with a variety of rifles with low or nil magnification and I don't even fancy myself a good shot. Standing unsupported after a sprint with a 10lb weapon might be a little more variable as you would expect.
Also, as much as I dislike the tripfag circle jerks and varying degrees of vapid consumerism amongst the current trip rejects I'd assume most of them could out shoot the average nuggeteer if they spend half as much time blasting as they claim to. Squid especially, but who knows, maybe that Hank Venture look alike spends more time painting and photographing his SCAR than shooting it, he is after all a chairforce pog I hear.
