>>430920The following menu would sustain me on a strenuous, all-day hike. If I were not hiking all day, I would eat less than this.
>Friday nightYou can eat a small meal at the car, and then just make another small dinner at the campsite. A single freeze-dried meal would suffice for this night.
>Saturday-You need a breakfast: A handful of beef jerky, a clif bar, and a handful of peanuts would fill me up. I'd also want to add in something sweet, like a pack of fruit snacks or actual fruit. I personally like to have fatty food for breakfast, like summer sausage or hard cheese, but we'll keep that off the list since it's not on your counter.
-Lunch: One of those sandwich packs, with a little peanut butter slobbered on it, add in another handful of peanuts and beef jerky for good measure.
-Snack: Throughout the day, as you are active, you may want to put some food into your stomach. I typically consume an energy bar, or a couple handfuls of nuts/jerky for every hour of activity, with a two to three hour rest from eating after a large lunch or breakfast.
-Dinner: A freeze-dried meal, some beef jerky, and something sweet for dessert, like a candy bar.
