>>433794It's pretty nice. Not a huge upgrade from the T2 but still added some new features.
Beacon's a little smaller/sleeker, sort of designed to be carried in a pocket vs. the harness. I've got enough shit/straps on my chest when i'm riding that the beacon harness doesn't really sit anywhere comfortably, so I stash the beacon in my pants pocket (inside pocket, not cargo pocket) and clip the lanyard to my vest.
Controls changed. Dial on the top selects off/transmit/search; no more on/off switch on the back and separate search/transmit switch/button like the T2 or DTS. The Special button's still on the front like the others.
Changed the multiple-burial indication.
DTS didn't show anything, just homed in on the closest.
T2 adds a light indicating it's receiving more than one signal, still homes in on the closest.
T3 adds a "1-other", "2-others", and "more than 2" indicator.
Also with that comes a "Big Picture" mode - if you're in an area where there's multiple beacons in range, it'll do a quick (like 6-per-second) dance pointing out where it thinks all the beacons are. Kind of a neat feature to have, but not really cool enough to make me want to upgrade from the T2.
If you've got a DTS or other 2-antenna beacon (or, god forbid, an analog transceiver), the T3's a solid choice.
