>>431262A few unordered points:
- The weight isn't as much a problem as the bulk. Even packed inside the compression sack, it's huge.
- The compression sack? Literally nothing good about it as a compression sack. Worst I've used, hands down. Get another one. But if you clip a strap onto some of the webbing it makes a kickass, size adjustable minimalist duffel bag.
- The green bag's 40 degree rating is pretty accurate for a comfort rating, usable up to 30. Wearing reasonable clothes under it.
- The black bag is insanely warm. With same reasonable clothes you'll be running hot in the twenties.
- Everything hooked together, I had to be careful even in the low teens not to layer too much to overheat. I remember waking up damp with sweat and being all "fuck!" as soon as I left my little sauna cocoon.
- It's a bit of an ergonomic nightmare compared to any proper outdoor brand bag. The zipper's in the wrong spot because something something jumping out of it with you're gun when you're ambushed. Hooking everything together is a PITA I've always had to do a few times before I get it right - even though it seems like it's straightforward, you/I always miss a snap that gets covered in material. The drawcord is a pain. It's been too long since I've used the bivy to remember exactly how, but it has to be almost too open at the top to be in at all, but it definitely works.
- The fabric on the inner bags feels nice in a weird way. I'd actually compare it to the feel of Arc'Teryx's Airetica nylon. It's a little bit rougher actually, but it feels similarly soft and supple. The outer feels like the cheap Gore-Tex it is.
- I don't know what people are talking about with it being too snug. The black is definitely loose, the green IIRC is also loose but less so.
