I am the op. Yes I live here and grew up here in the area. The mountain is Pine Mountain and the gorge is The Breaks Canyon. I hike and scout wildlife. We have the largest black bear population in the south in south eastern KY. I also look for relics of moonshiners and miners. Red River Gorge is a wild and beautiful place you will love it. I have always lived about 10 minutes from this area and the river is very popular with kayakers in the fall(class 5).
