Their coastal rain forests get a little colder and some parts of it get even more rain days than the OP. They'll also get snow or more predominantly sleet much more often than the OP.

If it's like any of the other American and Canadian Pacific Islands up north, everything is expensive as all fuck. Fuel, milk, goods, everything. The few people there usually make a living hosing tourist's bank accounts and generally being trashy.
Honestly, you can get feeling just as remote on the OP as long as you don't mind seeing civilization when standing on the peak of a foothill on a clear day.
