I'm a security guard who works graveyard in a site where the lights shut off and I'm in the dark all night.

I'm looking for a lamp so I can do homework. It can't be big and preferably I's like something that lasts a while or is rechargeable. I can't be carrying around a big camping lamp, so I was looking for one of those flashlights that pop out into an area lamp or some sort of portable compact area light. Any suggestions?
