Cedar bark that has been rubbed and the fibers separated
Pine needles that have been pulverized by vehicles driving over them. Find them in the street.
Shaved dry pine.

Sawdust+paraffin melted into cardboard egg crates
Cotton balls soaked in petroleum jelly
Newspaper rolled, tied and soaked in paraffin
