I agree about eradicating the more benign invasives. I think many people agree about this, actually -- the thing is you often can't see that they're going to pose a problem until it's too late. Some of the cleanup efforts actually have the reasonable goal of reestablishing resilient communities of native climax species, but yeah, in many cases, they're fighting a losing battle.
I have no idea what he's talking about with allowing endangered invasives. I assume he just means the least aggressive ones, but those generally displace some niche species along the way -- it's hard to imagine that this strategy would maximize global diversity.
