However, the men you are talking about are probably white trash poachers because no one else has cause to do either in the case of deer. I wouldn't define taking a deer or two out of season on your property as poaching but roving around with a suppressed .22 and a spotlight suggests you aren't doing that.
.22 for deer is pretty exclusively a poaching thing and in the context of deer .22 has nothing to do with fudds.
A fudd would espouse an 'ethical' but likely antiquated cartridge he feels is adequately American for the purpose, none of which expressly make him a fudd so much as his interpretation of the purpose of the 2nd amendment. But those aforementioned stereotypes tend to run strong in this type.

Legal definition includes basically everything that isn't state sanctioned, so yes. But illegally harvesting wildlife for sale or other monetary gain is a different beast than knocking off an overpopulated species of deer that comes through your garden one too many times. Both are legally poaching with hugely different intents. I feel poachers are out harvesting crab and abalone to sell. Humans removed the natural predators and now it is a deer paradise. Then deer are over populated and horrific diseases spread through them like wild fire.

Thankfully, in my location coyotes moved up from down south and now the deer population is properly maintained.

Not so much, the predators tend to eat their natural prey first. Got a buddy who worked in the federal wolf reintroduction program for a while and he said they had surprisingly little trouble and just relocated the wolves that caused problems.

Incorrect. Learning to get out of the trailer park when a twister's a'comin' is quite useful and tornadoes are quite unpredictable. And learning an animal's tendencies gives you a head start on understanding what it is more or less likely to do. A rattlesnake may or may not rattle before it strikes, and it may or may not choose to envenomate you if it bites you, but it can't strike further than it can reach, which is about half its body length from its coil. Forests need natural predators to kill off the deer so that the deer don't eat all of their newly growing tree saplings to replace their older trees or allow the forest to become larger. This has been studied and proven.

If you want proper stewardship of your forests keep the predators such as wolves, various wild cats and bears alive.

My state has a little less than an estimated 2,000 mountain lions left alive. At the rate they have been killed in the past 100 years they will be extinct in this state in about 20 years if they are ever all found by someone with a gun.

The introduction of wolves had a positive impact in Yellowstone National Park by reducing the ungulate population only because hunting hasn't been permitted there.

I live in northwestern Ontario and both people and other animals eat deer and moose. I'm not sure why you think it is one or the other.

Natural predators impact prey movement, behaviour, natural selection, foraging, etc. People going out and shooting 2-3 large mammal species from Sept-Dec isn't emulating this phenomenon.

Read up on top-down regulations of predators if you actually want to learn something. I won't argue with you anymore, you clearly have little understanding in this area and it would be pointless. Just keep saying, "Fuck the animals" and wonder why no one takes you seriously.
