Hey /out/, this spring and summer I wanna do some camping/hiking and I was wondering what supplies I'd need. I want to hunt/get most of my own food but I'll probably bring some stuff in case that doesn't work out so well. I'm in the NYS area and I'm planning to partly go along a stretch of the Appalachian trail near me.

I want to pack light so here what I'm thinking:
>Pocketknife, a hunting knife, maybe a hatchet
>Small amount of Jerky/ cliffbars
>Cargo shorts (maybe one of those pairs where the shins zip off)

Anything else I should know of/bring? I want to pack light enough so i won't need more than a small bag. Can anyone link guides on how to hunt/camp?
