Used to go in caves a lot when I was younger, because my dad was obsessed with rock hunting.

Was a lot of fun and prepared me for lots of rocky and high altitude hiking as I got older.

OP please reply to me asap. I'm a caver living in killeen, I have been Karst walking and logging data points throughout chalkridge falls and neighboring properties. last weekend I did a trash removal on a cave out at chalkridge falls. A lot of caves out there have loose sediments and possible leads, if you are interested in teaming up let me know.

Here's a picture for proof. this is one of the larger caves in the park.

Here's a cave somewhere in the general area, will not disclose the area on any of these. This one has a fun climb, and also currently houses a bobcat. The carcass of a black vulture was found in its "lair"

We found a cave a couple of months ago, there was nothing saying how deep it was or if it was save. You could see there where tracks of people inside though. We spend about 1,5 hours in there. It had an entrance were you could walk almost up ride but soon you had to start crawling on hands and feet. There were about 5 turns you could take, most of them were a dead end after 2 or 3m. Expect for one were you had to crawl on your belly over some rocks a small part but it widened up soon after. You could crawl on hands and knees but had to avoid one big hole in de bottom which was a 2 meter drop to nowhere. After a while it ended up to a small opening in a cliff at the other end of the rock. There was no way to get down so we had to backtrack.
Next we tried one off the dead end's which apparently was passable. You had to get on your back and chimney yourself through, there were a serries of smal open rooms connected with passages you had to crawl on your belly. We were to afraid to go any further at one point, because we were in so deep, if you got stuck there i'd suck. So we got back out, by this time we were covered in mud and dirt like... well like those people who come out of cave's.
Pic is at the very first tunnel, the one girl with the only camera didnt dare to go any further.

Yes the helmet is good for its price range. More of a climbing helmet than for caving. Meaning, it has foam inside which for one you can't boil and bleach it if you're going into white nose syndrome caves, and once you have a real nasty bonk on the head or fall, has to be replaces. Petzl is number one brand for caving and vertical gear in my book.

It wouldn't be the best idea,
-bad air (high co2)
-need constant light (don't wanna use fire in there, adds to bad air problem)
-staying dry might be a problem depending on the caves. I mean, it is a caves job to transport water back to the aquifer.
-the moment you require rescue, consider yourself dead because no one's going to find you.
