>>447993>>446048what can you fit in your finnbags for /out/ing? i've got a few items i always just leave inside. two small water tight canisters with whistles on them. cheapo plastic things. they have ferro rods built in on the side which is kinda cool. one is filled with vaseline soaked cotton balls, outside wrapped in braided nylon twine. the other is also wrapped in twine. inside has fishooks, very fine 3 strand nylon twine (good for snares), one firecracker for bear defense (not as good as m80s or roman candle but it fits in my kit). i keep a stainless steel cup in the smaller square section in the bag with a roll of TP nested inside. in the little pouches along the front i keep my rape whistle survival kits already mentioned. as well as a couple bic lighters, pretzl headlamp, small maglight, space blanket, fork, cheapo rain poncho, a ziplock bag filled with a couple plastic grocery bags. i keep the plastic bags in case i find a treasure trove of goodies innawoods. tfw stumble on a patch black trumpets. the larger section in the bag is where i put my water bottle (40oz klean kanteen) and any food i am bringing. usually still have plenty of room left in there for whatever else i might need to bring for a particular outing. i might be forgetting a couple things but that sums it up. any suggestions for what to add, keeping in mind this is primarily a day hiking bag.
