I tried squirrel hunting around Kelly's pond and on the other side of the bridge last season (2013) and didn't see a thing. But, if you have your APH, there's a couple of days in December that they open Huntsville SP for squirrel hunting. On those days, you will get all the squirrels you need *if* you know how to hunt mixed hardwood for squirrel (which is easy as hell).
The National forests out east are better. I hunt out in Sabine and it is not only a beautiful national forest but there are few hunters and plenty of game (got a deer with the muzzleloader last weekend). You also have the Indian Mounds wilderness area (again, Sabine). It is thick wilderness with very, *very* few people going through. I promise you the hogs are in there.
