The picture in question (not mine) is of a homemade bushcraft fishing rod. The idea is to have a spool with some line you can toss out in order to catch things like pan fish or trout, or really whatever you have in your local watering holes. You can see it's effectiveness in many youtube videos, and does a pretty good job for what it actually is.
Question is, when it comes to size, weight, and storage of your terminal tackle, do one of these give you a higher chance of catching some dinner, or would a telescopic rod, or even one of those "pocket pen rods" provide you with a higher success. The difference between the two would obviously be casting distance and control.
Anyone have experience with either, and would they choose a bushcraft rod over a telescopic or pocket traditional rod?
