Let's see your EDC backpacks chaps,

PIC related my old Berghaus Chromia 30L which got destroyed during a collision I had on my motorcycle recently, looking for a more durable replacement.

Pelican 1600's my week-long-trip checked bag. Got a 1550 for shorter (2-3 day) trips. 1450 if I need to carry on instruments (perfect size for a benchtop DMM or handheld spec ani), 1650 for shipping real big shit, and a whole bunch of 1200's.

Any recommendations for a solid travel backpack? Should be large and solid to hold books, clothes and laptop. Would an osprey farpoint for 100€ last me a while?

Osprey gear is very well manufactured so yes, it will more than likely even outlast you, for clothing, books and a laptop I would say 30L capacity minimum

Don't have first hand experience with Berghaus products, but TNF has both gaudy shit with sub standard quality as well as actually decent gear. You might find similar item slightly cheaper sold by other manufacturers, but that doesn't make it bad gear.

I use a osprey talon 22 for weekend trips and an osprey 33 for week long trips. 10/10 bag for comfort, weight and durability. Slightly pricey though.

Northface Big Shot, had it almost 8 years and the only problem is one of the side pocket zippers is slightly damaged.
Other than that I love this bag, it's carried my stuff everywhere and makes 40lbs feel like 20.
