I don't think you understand, thru hiking takes at least 5 months for the average hiker.

Nope, I understand completely, we have about that much time to hike because college will start late, as most colleges do. If I wanted to hike this, don't you think i would know it would take more than three months?

You dont understand. By October 15th Baxter is CLOSED. If you arent in Harpers Ferry by July, you won't make it. Unless you're doing a SOBO hike, which might be possible, but much, much harder.

Thru hiked in '14. I know hikers that started in late June and made it. Don't listen to the naysayers, you can start late and finish just fine.

Also, the 15th isn't a set close date for Baxter. They closed on the 25th of Oct this year. Totally depends on the weather. I summited on the 15th and it was a beautiful day.

I started April 15th by the way. Took me 6 months exactly.
