Anyone have any words on this bag? Canadian fag here, I checked MEC and they dont have anything that I want that is this size. Just curious. Looking to make it a 2-3 day camping bag. I want to lash a sleeping bag and small tent on it. Carry the basics in the pockets. I am worried about cheap zippers. I feel I should obviously just save for something better, but this is the exact style I want. Simple....

I have the condor 3 day. Excellent pack. Multiple pockets. Full Molle. I have a ton of shit in it. Also very comfortable. 2 thumbs up.

Small warning on the condor 3 day assault bag. If you plan on hiking great distances the bag by itself weighs 7 lbs. That fucking heavy for such a small bag. If your only going a couple miles innawoods to camp a few days its a great heavy duty bag built like a tank.

I have one of those. It's fine as a daypack, but for heavier loads the ergonomics just don't work unless you're tiny. The capacity is decent, but if you load it up it ends up hanging really far off of your back, and it's just too narrow for the straps to work very well. It'll either sit too low to bear well on your back, or you can cinch it up high and it'll destroy your neck.

I would recommend a larger pack.

Heh, my girlfriend sold me this backpack shortly after we met this summer. This is the first time I learn what it is, not that i really searched ever but it's still amusing.

There's a lot of pockets, which kinda diminishes it's space unless you take a long time to pack things super carefully in if you are trying to put a shitload in it. Fortunately, there's a decent amount to a ton of space depending on what you are used to so if for everyday use you can just throw everything in.

This is the first I have heard of the bag or the zippers, I have not experienced any difficulty with them, nor did expect them to be cited as a weak point, fwiw.

It's big enough I bought it for several day motorcycle trips on my dual sport, going home for a week at christmas was no issue living only out of it for about a week.

WAIT nevermind. Mine might be the bigger cousin to this? It's got side pockets, and the large pocket on the front of the pack is on top while the smaller, narrower pocket is along the bottom. The main pockets also appear to be bigger.

I have that bag and have used it for 5-6 years for camping and various other /out/ things. It's great but very small. Not adequate for a 2-3 night trip unless you are really going minimalist. The times I have done 2-3 nighters I have had to attach stuff to the molle all over the place and it got kind of ridiculous. Extremely comfortable and durable though if all you need is a small backpack.

If you like that style then look into a 3 Day Assault pack, the big brother of the Level III assault. That is what I have now.

The zippers on these bags are their best part. They are intentionally very over-sized and that makes them pretty much immune to snagging or failure, extremely reliable.

I own that exact backpack. It was my first ever backpack and it did its job. If nothing of your setup is overly bulky then the inside of the pack is fine in terms of compartments. I had a Snugpak Elite 5 when I had this pack and struggled, to say the least, to get it in the main compartment.

The zips are actually pretty good, if the tassles hanging off the zips to pull around aren't the best.

As a first time backpack, or something to throw about for a short while, IMO it's great, not least due to the cheap price (I got mine for £30). But in terms of what's actually out there in terms of quality and comfort, it's really not up to scratch.

I can't comment on the quality of the condor pack which people are recommending because I've never owned it, but unless you're getting one of the plain colours it looks like that pack runs up about $150. I'll just remind you that that kind of cash can get you a pretty sweet pack, such as something from Osprey, without the inflated price for the tacticool fad.

I've so far had no problems with it carrying anything I throw at it although due to only using it for EDC purposes I generally only give it a mile or two of walking a day and it mostly sits in the car or the office with me. It's well worth the money, no question.

I have cheap chinese airshit pouches for my hunting backpack! I'm also using them in my hunting belt which, for some reason, has a small MOLLE panel for custom stuff. Also, attaching other stuff to MOLLE webbing is nice.

...but overall it's better if you just have a good backpack because you don't need to customize things THAT much since nobody here is going to a war or something.

I will say one of the things I really like about this pack is I can store my axe in the straps on the side. Not the loose ones with the buckles, the tighter ones along the main compartment, it is very secure.

They're not very big, so they're not really suited for longer hikes, and the lack of a frame or any support makes it unsuited for longer hikes as well.
for a day hike or probably a weekend, it should be fine.

Thanks. Yeah, I was thinking of going on a 3 day hike or so with a buddy of mine up north to a cool location and I'm also going on a week long camping trip with some buddies during summer too. I think I'll test run the bag and see how it is.

I can highly recommend this bag. I bought it on a whim because of the price. I've used the bag for about 3 years now for over night trips, carrying climbing gear and as just an every day school bag. the zippers aren't cheap, they're actually pretty decent, I'e stuffed the bag and haven't had one break yet. here is how the bag was sitting in my closet packed for an overnight trip next weekend here in Pennsylvania.
