How do i avoid satanic cults/psychopaths when deep innawoods?

I'm prepping for this summer and i'm going to venture into north Canada.

I can't bring weapons other than knifes so don't recommend me guns.
Should i only walk during night and sleep in day time?

Pagan here... seriously, you're not likely to find Wiccans, Druids, Heathens, Satanists, etc. deep in the woods. So many of them are unfit and have a host of illnesses that either impair their mobility or just wind them from walking a little ways off pavement that any innawoods trekker can pretty easily outwalk their sphere of comfort. Anything you find deep in the woods is either a couple of guys just spraying shit to fuck with someone or a solitary person doing the same thing.

Any sign of something like the deep in the woods wouldn't be much different than finding a homeless camp, some methhead's crash pad, or something and it's pretty easy to spot. Seriously, you're more likely to encounter crazies at Walmart than in the deep woods.

I dunno, guys. ive heard stories...ive been camping since i became 10 and that was a long time ago. cultmembers, ghosts, enchanted wildlife are pretty much basic everyday encounters in some areas (especially in forests where many laylines meet). i advice to take a dreamcather with you, holy water, learn a few biblical prayers by heart, real silver necklace will be good too, normal weapons wont help you.

i know this sounds crazy, but these things are real.

Most of the weird shit I've run into with these groups and rituals are when I would do my 20 mile runs at night through woods/cemetaries. Usually it's just a bunch of edgy teens who get spooked by my foot steps or at a pale guy wearing almost nothing moving quickly and almost silently through the night.

Really though, my biggest danger running at night is asshole teens in trucks throwing beer bottles at me. Running through the woods it's tripping and breaking my leg.

Is this thread bait? I have been backpacking deep wilderness and alpine climbing for over 10 years. I have never once had close calls with weirdos or wildlife. You don't need a weapon, just exercise common sense. The only remotely plausible dangerous interaction you could have with people is if you stumble upon someone's drug farm. If it has been a problem in the area, just stay on the main trails. Have some faith in humanity OP.
