I think the other /out/ movie thread is gone.

I just watched this one, it is about a group of people hiking the John Muir trail. It's not bad, there are some cringe-worthy moments but I give it a 7.5/11.

minutes into "the Wild" and the bitch is fucking incompetent. Bought shitloads of gear, doesn't know how to use it. Big-ass tent, didn't even put it up once in her life. Why am I so buttblasted about this?

I thought it was like "womyn can do it too, like Into the Wild". And that guy was novice but he did well. Well okay, if it's meant to show a woman's struggle, it's fair enough, but it's still horribly cringy.

I only enjoyed Wild for the scenery and the other people she met on the trail. Parts of it were kinda shitty otherwise

Sad news is that tons of novice hikers who dont know anything about preparing for a thru hike are starting to attempt it cause of the movie.
