As it is it makes it hard for me to justify carrying this stove + axe versus my gas stove + fuel, other than for novelty purposes essentially, especially considering:
I found it is not really good for very cold weather. I tried using it to boil water at around -15C and was unable to get enough heat out of it to bring the water to a rolling boil. Because it is small, I would have to add wood to the fire several times to keep it going for each pot of water (about 1.25-1.5L) and the size/heat of the fire never seemed to be enough.
