Hi, /out/. Never been here before. I am planning to hike the Appalachian Trail. I was wondering if you have any tips for me. It seems no matter where I go people are talking about absurd budgets for it. Thousands of dollars to spend in towns and spending three times the amount it currently costs me to eat in civilization. I know there are people who spend little but they seem to be the minority. Is a budget of around one-thousand and five hundred dollars really that bizarre?
