i go for walks every morning around a huge corn field. it's about a 2 mile walk. we've gotten a lot of snow lately so there's about 3 feet of it on the ground. when i was walking down the longest edge of the field, i noticed some mouse tracks along the top of the snow. i had never seen this before and knew something strange was going on because i've been walking around this field for almost 5 years. anyway, i followed the mouse tracks for almost a mile, a whole fucking mile, until i eventually found this poor little mouse huddled into a ball with its face buried in the snow, dead and frozen. the mouse must have ran around in circles at least 30 times before dying. it was a really strange experience for me. i bet all of this happened less than an hour before i was there. if i could have found this mouse i would have tried saving it. it must have been desperately searching for food. it was just a heartbreaking and surreal moment. i witnessed the last moments of this mouse's life, and it was pretty brutal. i picked him up and placed him next to a tree underneath the snow. i would have buried him but the ground is frozen.

RIP little mouse bro
