I love thinking about a post apocalyptic world. I do like The Walking Dead style zombie apocalypse though and it's what I use as a scenario for my inner and outer debates about what I'd do to make everything work for a community. But here's a few scenario's I wanted to ask you about.

First off is skills. How do you put forth skills of people who come to the place looking for sanctuary. You don't know their background therefor you don't know their skills.
Here's a little scenario. You have two people that have come to your location at different times. One's a old lady and one's a big strong man. What you don't know is that the old lady knows how to store food for long term. The man knows how to code. You must choose one on the spot, because that's all you can choose. How do you choose and what decisions do you make?

Secondly, how do you choose your location for a community? If you're running this then you have a the biggest say on what happens. But your location is important, how do you choose it and based on what things?

This is meant for talk on how you'd run a community, I know a lot of people want to be loners and if that's the case, that's fine. Just don't comment on how stupid or wrong it is. Positive feedback only.
