whats happening /out/

so im looking to go on my first solo camp/hike soon, im getting my gear ready and was wondering what tips youd give to someone like me?

ive only ever done anything similar when i was with the army cadets and we had food/water supplied for us.

im going to try and catch fish and maybe set some traps/snares if i can figure them out before i go. so maybe this can be a snare info thread aswell?
