>>466943Lived in the mountains above Boulder for my entire life. Only 21, but I can tell you a bit. When it comes to wildlife, Rattle snakes are really not that big of an issue. As for the rest, yeah. This guy is spot on. Don't feed the coyotes or other animals if you don't want them shot. The people in the mountains shoot them for sport but the boulderites will claim they attack children. It was a controversy a while back.
Be mindful of the weather, it'll surprise you, it'll be warm and sunny one hour and blizzard conditions the next, then go back again with no warning.
Also, on a note unrelated to /out/, traffic in the immediate Boulder area is a shit show. Too many cars for the small roads.
While i'm on driving, learn not to be a dumbass driving in the snow, because while cdot does a great job on most roads it does get bad on occasion. March usually gets the most snow. Just something to keep in mind.
Personally, I don't mind one bit that you and others are moving to colorado, but don't expect to get along with alot of the people in the boulder area if you don't like people that think their shit doesn't stink. Those are the types that say "colorado is full hurr". Alot of entitlement. Not everyone is like this. My family has been in colorado since the 1800s, and its a beautiful state, more power to you for making the move, especially if you can handle the rising cost of living around boulder.
Keep it positive and respect the area like you would anywhere and I'm sure you'll do great.
