Powder riding is usually done in solitary places also. I also can't stand ski-resorts, which Is why I prefer locations like these to ride.

I got a pair of Tubbs for Christmas and I've been on a few hikes. I use them when the snow is unsuitable for skiing or when hiking in terrain that is too hilly for using skis efficiently.

Also snowshoe hiking in hills is extremely good exercise.

Not that guy - but skiing, either cross country or downhill, i fucking magical. I God damn love it.
Walking up with snowshoes, breaking lunch at the top, and skiing down in untouched, pure, white powder. My god.

Doesn't really matter if it's cold, but the typical 0 degree and sun weather through the easter makes for some good fucking fun.

I'm at Glacier National Park at the moment. Feels good, man. Weather's finally clearing, but it's also warming up. Can't dally in those avalanche chutes.

I live in Norway, and we even have a saying that all Norwegians are born with skis on their feet. Even though this is somewhat considered 'fact,' people still persist on walking down trails, oblivious to the damage they are doing.
