The pliers aren't useless. You can cut/bend/twist lighter gauge wire and hold nuts and pull zipties tight and stuff with them, but obviously they aren't nearly as strong as a full size tool for bending or cutting heavier stuff. Depends on what you need. I don't have particularly high expectations of any tool I can put on a keychain.
The file is pretty much useless though.
