Ah shiet. I'll probably hit it up, but take caution while checking it out. Do you know of anywhere else in the area? I was looking at photos of the "Graffiti caves" off of Ashland ave. in Chicago.

I also was looking for abandoned houses in the more rural areas outside of the cities, I've found a couple, but nothing to great so far.

If you have a permit to carry they can't charge you for it, just the trespassing charge if they even care.

Again, I wouldn't expect anything to happen, but you should prepare for that which you don't expect. I'd bring a firearm if you can, baseball bat isn't much all things considered if you do run into a couple / few thugs.
