Does an increase in popularity for gearmakers always mean a decrease in quality?

It always seems like as soon as a manufacturer starts to get popular and cater towards the general public thier quality and focus towards good outdoor products falls.

I'm looking at Canada Goose now, every hipster and his dog now seems to be wearing the Arctic Parkas once worn by only those at McMurdo etc.

Does this spell the end of Canada Goose as a serious ECW apparell maker in the next few years?
