Help, /out/...I can't decide. Which should I get?

These will be used for hiking/canoeing and overall /out/ing trips in the spring thru fall seasons of the Northeast woodlands.

In the past I have gone through about 3-4 pairs now of Timberland hiking boots. Though I like them a lot but they only last a few seasons and I know they are not exactly the "best." Looking to upgrade to a top tier general purpose /out/ boot.

We all know that a question within a general topic gets maybe 2-3 replies at best before it gets burried in other replies. A separate thread on the other hand forces every reply to at least have read or seen the question at hand. If you have a question you want as much feedback from as many different perspectives as possible on would you make a thread or would you post it in a general thread? It's the same fucking people reading the catalog that are in the boot thread. You are just pissed that general threads are failures on this board. There isn't enough traffic to keep them moving.

Get the 535's without gore tex if it's Asolo you want. Gore tex wont dry in the field if it gets wet. And since they're full leather they're easy to wax and make waterproof. Will probably last you longer as well.

To the OP: I have a pair of Powermatic 200GV's. This is my third pair and in my opinion one of their better boots they make. Try that one on as well.

If you aren't familiar with a stiff soled boot, don't be afraid of being uncomfortable later on. It takes a bit of getting used too (You kinda roll off the toes when you step) but once you've had them on for a little while you won't even notice them. I was worried they'd sit in a corner waiting for me to carry a backpack across technical terrain while I kept wearing my light boots, but the Fugitives have since become my primary shoe.

Best part? Got them for 20 bucks. 90 percent or so off retail.
