So my old scout buddy is pestering me to go on a 10 mile backpacking trip this coming Sunday and since I haven't gone camping in about 10 years now I pretty much have no gear except for a mess kit and medium alice pack (no tent, no bag, no blankets, no boots, no pad)
I do have a old military surplus poncho from like austria that seems pretty well made and has reinforced grommets to use it as a shelter but we're hiking in south Florida so I'm pretty sure I'll need something with more shelter and is lighter
Im wondering if I should buy a bunch of shit using amazon prime and hopefully have a day to test everything for Sunday, try to use what I have, or just skip and go when it's a better time.
