Beginning backpacker thread....
Looking to start backpacking, but not that often. I have a few friends and family who want to plan a trip or 2 a year. We're experienced campers, but have never backpacked. We always drove to whatever campsite we were at. Over the years we've all upgraded to have RVs, and want to reconnect with the primitive end of camping.
We're all in our early 30s, and I'm on a budget. I know it's an evolving experience, but where should I start? Looking for a good starter backpack. Amazon has some affordable Teton packs. Any advice would be appreciated.
