Sure that does make sense as poor people tend to be uneducated and hunting is one of the cheapest ways to put meat on the table.
And sure hunting is a part of gun culture and guns are often perceived as symbols of status/power by some very stupid, uneducated, and immoral section of the population (yet despite their combined stupidity and immoral behavior many of them manage to keep out of prison, this always surprises me), thus these people seek out guns and act like retards with them because they believe their retardery will impress other human beings and thus improve their standing in society.
I would like to point out that your statement does imply that having an education correlates with being a good human being.
Sure that does make sense as educated people tend to have a bit more goin' on in their heads than uneducated people. Hell I'd say education is an important part of becoming a "real human bean"; education catalyzes intellect and thought in many people.
But there are always these fucks (they tend to be the same kind of stupid fucks who see guns as status symbols) who don't see education for what it really is: a means to an end, the end being a better, more capable person. They see education as a status/power symbol and as an end unto itself, thus they seek out an education and act like assholes because they believe their assholery will improve their standing in society.
Now this part is just my hypothesis
This type of people is the same kind of person who goes to college and becomes a liberal/leftist because their faculty of critical thinking is severely lacking so they just absorb whatever information they see as convincing.
