Hi!
I'm a treeplanter during the springs and summers. It's an inexplicably addictive seasonal job.
The issue I'm bringing here is WEIGHT LOSS. I have a tall and slender frame to begin with, but when I throw myself into planting for 3 months, I usually lose about 10-15 lbs. by the end of the season.
I tend to eat more (carbs especially) when I plant, since obviously my body burns more energy and craves more food. But I still become really thin.
Planting is very much an endurance sport/activity, as you have to scramble around energetically for 8-10 hours a day.
My question is: for you guys who spend a lot of time hiking, endurance running, whatever expends a lot of energy, how do you keep from losing so much weight? I'm seriously thinking of getting cases of Ensure throughout the season, even though that shit is disgusting and a huge chore to pound back.
So, endurance sc/out/, if you manage it, how to you keep the weight on?
